Congolese do not eat a lot of meat in their diet. The typical poor rural Congolese may have meat only once a month. Therefore, a lot of are deficient in protein. However, they get some protein from animals we would not eat. Also, they get it from bugs we would not eat.
Grubs is one of those bug-types that Congolese eat regularly, if it is available. Grubs are a delicacy. They are prepared and offered to their honored guests.
