Unless you were raised in one of our biggest cities (New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, etc.), you probably remember your first trip to a big city. I remember getting speechless inTampa (Florida).
Now, imagine if you lived a rural village in Congo. Most visitors to the big city are speechless. Many of them want to stay forever. And some of them do stay.
Pictured above is Kananga, the provincial capital of the West Kasai Province. It's just early afternoon on a weekday. One car is visible along with wide streets and a traffic circle. Modern building made from bricks and cement with clay-tiled roofs.
The lure of the big city is powerful. It's all relative!
