What defines a good education? Or what determines a good education? Or what are the ingredients for a good education?
Are your answers different in the US than the Congo? Are your answers different in urban Congo than rural Congo?
We all have our own answers. But I hope they are common to both the Congo and the US, to both the rural and the urban settings.
In the US, we hardly ever talk about the books that our students use as an ingredients of good education. Why? I guess it is assumed to be a necessary ingredient.
In Congo, nothing can be assumed. Books are not available for most students. So, is Congolese children getting a good education?
