Some of you would give a half-naked Congolese boy the shirt off your back. Even though it would not fit does not matter. Because it is spirit and gesture of giving to the poor and disadvantaged that makes you feel better.
You feel you have done something. And you have. The child is happier and clothed for a while.
But what happens when the shirt is worn out. You hope that someone else gives the child the next shirt off their back this time. You are not sure.
To end extreme poverty and clothed a half-naked boy, you have to think deeper and try to solve the underlined problems. However, the problem for you is not seeing the end result. You are not sure.
Just remember, in the long run, you are not sure anyway. Nothing is sure. So, why do we demand it when dealing with the poor?
