It's fixable. That is, you can resew a seam. The seams are coming apart. The fabric is not torn.
Without electricity in the rural areas, most seamstresses use a manual sewing machine. There must be a different in the stitching between manual sewing machine and an electric sewing machine. I have had the same thing happen to my shirts made in rural Congo.
