AT&T touts that they cover 97 percent of the US. I wish Congo had mobile phone coverage of 50 percent. As a lucky one with coverage, you don't complain.
Mobile phones are a game changer for the rural Congo. They connect the rural poor and isolated with the urban areas and the world. People do not complain about dropped calls or anything. They are just lucky to participate in and be apart of the haves in the world.
Talking on a phone allows them to be somebody. They are equal for those few minutes when they are connected to the outside world.
